Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Will Have Triple Speed, Battle Enhancements and More, PC Version Keeps Exclusive Features – DualShockers

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered will have new customization options for players. However, the PC version will be hogging some of those.

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, which was first announced during Square Enix’s E3 2019 presentation, will be getting several new features to make progression both far more customizable and easier for players. According to a recent interview with series Producer Yoshinori Kitase, the remaster will have the following mechanics integrated:

  • Triple speed
  • Battle Enhancements (Max HP and ATB Gauge, Special Moves always available)
  • No random encounters

And while the news is certainly good for both longtime fans and newcomers, there is naturally a caveat. Unfortunately for those favoring the console version of the upcoming title the PC version of the game, which will be available on Steam, will have the following exclusive features:

  • Acquire all Items, Abilities, Special Moves and Triple Triad cards
  • Max GF level, Gil, and Magic
  • Highly customizable system settings

Although it’s still unclear why the console versions are missing these mechanics, the fact itself has been expressively made clear by the producer. Hopefully a more thorough explanation will follow in the coming months concerning this exclusivity.

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered — coming later this year for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC for Steam — will have updated character models and graphics. You can check out the official trailer here to get a look at the title’s graphical enhancements. The last time the game had been ported was back in 2013, in which it came with several new features such as Magic Booster and the Chocobo World minigame.

Recently Dissidia Final Fantasy NT acquired two new playable characters from Final Fantasy VIII — main female protagonist Rinoa and main villain Ultimecia.
