A mailman died Saturday after he was shot multiple times while on his mail route, the Shreveport Police Department confirmed.

The victim was shot multiple times in the upper body and was taken to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries, but later died.
Police said they believe two suspects are involved in the shooting, but names of the suspects have not been released. The suspects are not in custody.
A United States Postal Service investigator has become involved in the case, police said.
At around 1 p.m. on Saturday, approximately 19 units were on scene, per Caddo911.
